Minal Jay Patel received a baccalaureate from University of Texas in Computer Science Engineering. Originally, from Africa and is of an Indian heritage, she has absorbed all the colors of the diverse people, cultures, fashion, jewelry, textiles, landscapes, that she has been exposed to. She resides in the San Francisco-Bay Area making Los Gates, California her home. Her other artistic skills include sculpting, painting, drawing, mixed media collage, creating textiles, floral design, even design/planning. Minal’s launching point was early in her career, when her first client, the Nordstrom Public relation’s representative, noticed her signature jewelry. The Nordstrom representative wore a stunning necklace to one of the movie star filled award shows. Fashion magazines photographed the necklace, and gained other media attention. The opulent necklace has send strands with 72 carats of smoky topaz in drops intertwined with champagne, bronze, gold pearls and other neutral colored gemstone.
